Giving Tuesday

Hey guys! I know it’s been such a LONG time since I’ve posted on here (ahh sorry!) Hopefully since school work is dialing down (yay!) and the holidays are here (which means d.i.y gifts and recipes!) there will be more posts in the soon future.

Hope everyone is doing well. To those who celebrated Thanksgiving last week over in the U.S, hope that you had a memorable one with all your loved ones. If you went Black Friday shopping and Cyber Monday shopping, hope you got some amazing deals (without getting shoved around by people, of course – referring to my Black Friday shoppers lol). I personally can’t stand the crowds and online shopping just isn’t my thing haha.

But now, it is Giving Tuesday! For those who do not know what Giving Tuesday is, it is when communities, organizations, and charities join together to spread the message to give back to their cause.

If you would like to participate in this movement please check your local listings and see who is participating! If you have a favourite organization that you like, you can donate or even volunteer with them this holiday season!Β Also, just because it’s the holidays, doesn’t mean that you only have to give back in the holidays! Remember, these organizations are available all year round. Donate your things and time to those who need it more. Trust me, at the end of the day, it’s rewarding and you’ll feel great about yourself!
β€œWe have two days that are good for the economy. Now we have a day that is good for the community too.”

The youth group and I at my church are initiating a Holiday Drive which includes non-perishable food items, winter essentials and toys/book for children. We’re also making sleeping mats made out of plastic grocery bags/milk bags for the homeless. It’s a long process but it’ll be all worth it at the end! Hopefully when I get the chance I will write more about the Holiday Drive and show you the progress and end result.

Will you be giving back this year? Or have you been giving back? Do you have a have a favourite charity that you donate your things and time to regularly?
